Sue Arsenault – Owner and Client Care Manager

Sue has a passion for people! She is especially grateful for the wisdom she has gained over the years from the Elders in her life. Sue appreciates that our seniors bring valuable insight and experience to us that they graciously pass down to the benefit of the generations after them. She believes that it is a privilege and blessing to serve their changing needs as they age into their senior years. Sue opened her business with a goal of setting a higher standard of excellence in home care for older adults and embraces the Balanced Care model of the Portland Home Care Assistance time tested program.
As the owner and Client Care Manager, Sue loves overseeing our clients’ care and helping them age comfortably at HOME. Sue is driven to exceed client expectations and believes that the relationship and the communication between the client, family members and Home Care Assistance must be superior under all circumstances. Sue graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine and has held various jobs over the years in Sales /Marketing / Insurance and Real Estate that prepared and qualified her for this journey with Home Care Assistance. Sue resides in Windham with her husband, Tony, son and three step children. She enjoys her family, the outdoors and time with her church family.

Christine Hamlen - Employee Care Manager

Christine Hamlen – Employee Care Manager

Chris brings her passion for helping people to her role of Employee Care Manager. Her mission is to recruit and retain amazing caregivers for our clients. Chris comes to Home Care Assistance with over ten years experience in Human Resources, including experience in recruitment, interviewing, supervising, training and motivating employees. She has a knack for customer service, and strives to work with our clients to ensure their total satisfaction. Additionally, Chris brings over twenty years of experience as a loving adult caregiver for her mom, allowing her to remain living in her home. She truly empathizes with families when they call us, looking for assistance for their loved ones.

Chris is a University of Southern Maine graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. She owned and operated her own in-home child care for fifteen years, nurturing hundreds of children in her community. A lifetime resident of Cumberland, Chris lives with her husband Aaron and their two teenagers, living next door to her mom! Chris is very family oriented and is an active volunteer with various school organizations, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Ellen Strout – Client Care Manager

Ellen Strout – Client Care Manager

Ellen comes to Home Care Assistance with 10+ years of experience in Neurological Rehabilitation as a clinical case manager. Ellen brings direct practice experience with a focus on optimizing recovery, promoting independence and quality of living.

As a client care manager, Ellen is dedicated to establishing and maintaining caring relationships and working together with clients, caregivers and those involved in their care. Ellen strongly believes in the Balanced Care Method of embracing a positive, well balanced approach to aging.

Ellen has a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of New England and is Licensed in the State of Maine. Ellen’s focus of study was in Gerontology and understanding the physical, mental and the social aspects of aging.

Ellen lives in Gorham with her husband, Chad, and daughter, Madison. Together they enjoy spending time with family, friends and their yellow lab, Jackson.
